AIRSPACE REVIEW (airspace-review.com) – Prototipe jet tempur KF-21 ke-5 (seri 005) telah diperlihatkan selama kunjungan Presiden Yoon Suk-yeol ke fasilitas Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) pada 24 November 2022 lalu.
Awalnya, KF-21 005 ini dimaksudkan untuk Indonesia, yang akan diserahkan kepada PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), Bandung.
Namun, karena penundaan pembayaran Indonesia yang terus berlanjut untuk bagian program KF-X/IF-X, maka prototipe KF-21 005 tidak akan diserahkan ke Indonesia.
KF-21 005 ini kemungkinan akan digunakan oleh Angkatan Udara Republik Korea (RoKAF) untuk uji penerbangannya sendiri, seperti diberitakan oleh Blog Korea Defense.
Terjawab, ketika pada foto KF-21 005 itu tidak tampak gambar berdera Republik Indonesia dan spekulasi menyeruak di jagat maya.
Sebaliknya, Indonesia akan memenuhi syarat untuk menerima KF-21 005 ini bila telah menyelesaikan masalah keuangan dengan melakukan pembayaran penuh atas bagian dari program KF-X/IF-X.
Perihal tanggung jawab iuran proyek jet gen-4,5 ini, pada 1 November, Indonesia telah membayar sebagian dari biaya pengembangan KF-X/IF-X. Jumlahnya KRW 9,41 miliar atau setara 6,63 juta dolar AS, mengutip laporan Janes.
Sebelumnya, Administrasi Program Akuisisi Pertahanan (DAPA) Korea Selatan telah mengatakan bahwa Indonesia akan berkomitmen kembali untuk mendanai 20% dari biaya pengembangan KF-21 hingga tahun 2026.
Struktur asli disepakati oleh Korea Selatan dan Indonesia pada tahun 2015. Dimana, kedua negara bersama-sama menginvestasikan KRW8,8 triliun (6,2 miliar dolar) untuk mengembangkan KF-21.
Pembayaran dijadwalkan akan dilakukan oleh Indonesia hingga tahun 2028, tetapi Jakarta sempat menghentikannya pada tahun 2019.
Dengan Indonesia membayar 20% dari biaya pengembangan, maka Indonesia akan mendapatkan akses ke teknologi, keahlian, dan opsi untuk membeli pesawat.
Dalam proyek pengembangan KF-21 ini, disepakati PTDI akan mendapatkan satu prototipe jet Boramae tersebut untuk keperluan uji dan penelitian.

The first foreigner to pilot the KF-21 flight simulator is not you, but the Polish pilot. You guys have already lost trust in Korea. More, Korean government has been paid cost of stay for Indonesian engineers in Korea because Indonesian government didn’t paid anything before. it’s already a breach of contract by Indonesia.
And there is no agreement about tech transfers of 4 major area(AESA, IRST, EO TGP, RF Jammer) and US sourced tech in the contract but Indonesian government and Indonesian people have been kept laying about it. They just need an excuse for getting more from the program than what they have to pay.
What Indonesian has been doing in the international arms deals up to date made Indonesia infamous! That’s why Boeing says ‘pay first if you want F-15’ to Indonesia.

I think our government is making a right decision to buy Rafale and the f15, since there is prediction about world war in 2024. KFX 21 will so premature for that war no time for build and development.
Joint developments? The best ToT was the time to design it? (HAHAHA bangsat…) American prevented us from doing it in the first place. There are several sensitive third party technologies, like AESA that we can’t look into. It’s a shitty deal in the first place, we don’t need commitments on a shitty deal. I’m one of the engineers who the Indonesian Government sent to KAI for ToT. But in reality, I can’t even learn anything at KAI Facility, we can’t bring any media for learning even our phone and our flash drive were not allowed by them, so where’s the ToT? Also, they were so racist, glad they didn’t know that we also can understand Korean.
